----------------------------------------------------- Pasting text from the clipboard can be problematic when connecting to remote devices that don't implement robust flow control, for example, Cisco routers. The solution comes down to matching the speed SecureCRT sends data to what the server can process. One new method of handling this interaction is called "echo flow control" and a new tip discusses how to take advantage of it with a script. VanDyke Software Support has made both VBScript and Python scripts available from the Tips section on our website. Read more about flow control and download the scripts today: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- While we're in the middle of a major upgrade cycle, it's time for a review of how to back up settings in SecureCRT and SecureFX. Saving a backup will make sure you don't lose any sessions and custom settings while making configuration changes, during a software update, or when hit by a calamity like losing a hard drive. VanDyke Software Support has a thorough web tip on this subject, which walks you through the entire procedure of copying your settings to a backup folder, as well as how to restore those known good settings to the current configuration folder. Read the complete tip on backing up settings. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Forum member gates2010 asks if there is a quick way to show the log file of the current active window. Todd with VanDyke Software Support shares a Python script that will open the log file for the current active tab in SecureCRT for Windows. Todd also suggests mapping the script to a button for quick access. To read the complete thread with complete Python code, visit the VanDyke Software forums. ----------------------------------------
