I upgraded to SecureCRT 4.0.3 now my keyboard mappings act like they are forced to be EN-US (U.S. English). What can I do?

This solution applies to users who are running Windows NT 4 and may be using an international keyboard.

The upgrade to SecureCRT 4.0.3 included a fix for a problem in NT 4 where users were "missing" keys. For example, sometimes the "3" key would stop working. The missing key fix included a global configuration file option named "Use Standard Keyboard Mappings" which was set to true by default. When the setting is true, it essentially causes the keyboard to act like an EN-US (US. English) keyboard.

Under Windows NT 4.0, it may be necessary to add or change the following line in the SecureCRT Global.ini file from:

D:"Use Standard Keyboard Mappings"=00000001
D:"Use Standard Keyboard Mappings"=00000000

You can find Global.ini by referring to the Global Options dialog under the Options Menu. The "Options, Advanced" category has a setting called "Configuration folder" under which you will find the Global.ini. By default under Windows 9x/NT, your Configuration folder is located in:

C:\Program Files\SecureCRT\Config

Under Windows 2000/XP, your Configuration folder is usually in:

C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\VanDyke Software\SecureCRT\Config

Note: Ensure that no instances of SecureCRT are running when you edit Global.ini.
