Triggers Category
The Triggers category lets you choose what events you want to trigger a specified command. For example, triggers can be used to execute actions such as e-mail notifications or pager alerts.
Triggers window
|
This window lists the available events that can trigger a command and any command that has been associated with a specific trigger.
For example, when users have exceeded the limit of failed authentication attempts, this trigger can execute actions such as e-mail notifications or pager alerts. The limit for failed authentication attempts is specified in the Authentication category in the Limit failed attempts to [n] option. The Limit failed attempts to [n] option must be checked for this option to take effect.
This trigger can be used, for example, to start a virus scanner to ensure newly uploaded files are clear of damaging viruses or it can move files from an upload folder to a destination folder elsewhere on the server or network.
This trigger can be used, for example, to send an e-mail message to notify you that the download is complete.
Check the box in front of an event to instruct VShell to run the associated command when that event occurs. To edit an associated command, select the event and click on the Edit button below the window; this will open the Edit dialog for that event. If you try to enable an event that has no associated command, VShell will display an error when you click OK or Apply, or attempt to leave the category. |
Fire file triggers on error
Check this option to allow all specified upload and download triggers to run even if an error code is received. If the option is not checked, triggers will not run if an error code is received unless the error code is for a successful (0) upload, successful (0) download, or end of file reached (-1).
