Why does my OpenSSH agent crash when I try to add a VShell®-generated key pair?
You cannot use VShell-generated key pairs with the OpenSSH SSH-agent because the agent is unable to read private keys generated by vkeygen (unlike public keys, private keys do not have a standardized format). However, VanDyke servers and clients do understand private and public keys generated by OpenSSH applications.
