1. Tip: Moving Tabs in SecureCRT

A question in a recent forum post about SecureCRT's tab behavior made us think it was time to revisit the tip, "Moving Tabs in SecureCRT". This tip shows you how to move one or more tabs to a new window and then back again. It also provides information about "cloning" tabs.

Follow this link to read the tip.

Try this additional shortcut with session tabs: use the ALT+1 through ALT+0 key combinations to directly navigate to any of the first ten SecureCRT tabs.

2. Tip: Increase Productivity with the SecureCRT Button Bar

How many SecureCRT customers out there take complete advantage of the button bar to save time and avoid tedious repetition of keystrokes? Take a look at the online button bar tip to make sure you aren't missing any opportunities to launch applications, issue complex shell commands, invoke scripts, or any of the eight different functions that you can attach to a button. Not to mention that you might want the bar in another location than the default spot at the bottom of the window.

Call for Testers: SecureCRT "All Tabs" Button Command

VanDyke Software is looking for customers to test the ability to send a button action to all tabbed or tiled (Windows only) sessions in a pre-beta release of SecureCRT.

If you would like to test and provide feedback on this feature, please send e-mail to .

Call for Testers: SecureCRT Wait for Line Prompt

VanDyke Software is looking for customers to test the ability to wait for a line prompt (similar to line send delay). This allows large amounts of pasted text to be handled as fast as the remote system allows.

If you would like to test and provide feedback on this feature in a pre-beta version of SecureCRT, please send e-mail to .

5. New and Current Releases

The beta 2 release of VShell server 3.9, which includes optional FTPS support on UNIX platforms, was made available October 11. VShell 3.9 with FTPS provides support for secure file transfer using the FTP protocol with SSL/TLS encryption.

SecureFX(R) 7.0 gives you a toolbar filter to quickly find files and folders in the current local and remote working directories, faster synchronization as well as other synchronization enhancements, and enhancements to SFXCL. The latest ClientPack 7.0 utilities adds new capabilities to the VRALib API and the ability to generate OpenSSH format keys from the vkeygen command line.
