How to Integrate SecureCRT on Windows with the Built-In OpenSSH Agent

While SecureCRT and SecureFX don't interact with the OpenSSH agent on Windows by default, this integration can be manually enabled by taking the following steps to set an environment variable referencing the OpenSSH agent:

  1. Create an environemnt variable in Windows for your user account as shown below:
  2. Name:
    VANDYKE_SSH_AUTH_SOCK
    Value:
    \\.\pipe\openssh-ssh-agent
  3. Restart SecureCRT/SecureFX after the environment variable has been created. Applications load environment variables at process start, so changes will only be reflected in new instances of an application.
