Scripting
The kinds of tasks that may be scripted are nearly endless. You may create scripts to:
- Logon to multiple hosts
- Log command output
- Import data from a file to a SecureCRT session
- Paste with echo flow control
- Transfer files
With SecureCRT, scripts can be created using the script recorder, modifying our example scripts, or by writing your own in a number of languages, including:
- JScript (Windows® only)
- VBScript (Windows only)
- PerlScript (requires 3rd party ActiveX engine and is available on Windows only)
- Python (All supported OS platforms)
Support for multiple scripting languages means that SecureCRT supports scripts on most major platforms—Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Mapping Tasks to Keys and Buttons
SecureCRT allows you to define mapped keys and customize the button bar to run scripts with a single keystroke or mouse click. In addition to mapping scripts to keys and buttons, you may also map menu items and protocol functions to keys and buttons.
