Supported Secure File Transfer Protocols
SecureFX protects data in transit from a number of threats by applying multiple types of data security.
- Data privacy is ensured by data encryption, enabled by secure file transfer protocols over Secure Shell (SSH2), including SFTP and SCP.
- Data integrity is preserved through message authentication.
- Host identity verification and user authentication prevent impersonation and man-in-the-middle attacks.
When integrated with other VanDyke Software products like the VShell® server, your network administration professionals can further refine and restrict access and permissions for file transfer operations to protect data from accidental or malicious internal threats.
Responses to Protocol Updates
Updates to the secure file transfer protocols supported by SecureFX are issued by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the same body that developed SSH2. Although updates are not frequent, when issued, VanDyke Software quickly responds.
In order to provide the highest level of security for your network and data in transit, IETF protocol updates are incorporated into our client and server software. Depending on the extent of the update, we may issue a maintenance update or, because some protocol updates require major changes to the code, we may develop a new version of SecureFX.
